The book is what we call, historical fiction. Set in the 1800's at the California State Fair. It has a wonderful character lesson (which the activity pages help you capitalize on!)

Thanks so much for your sweet review of Fair Surprise. I'm enjoying this Crew sailing very much. I LOVE your banner. Look at all your adorable red heads (reminds me of Caddie Woodlawn . . . all the different shades of red they talked about in that book). If you have not read that book, I highly recommend it.
