The Download Club from My Teaching Library

The Download Club from My Teaching Library is a MUST have for homeschooling!  This subscription gives you unlimited access to downloadable resources for all subjects for grades Prek-12th.

I have been exploring my annual membership, and I'm excited to share what I've been discovering...

Once you login, the fun begins.

This site it very easy-to-use and well organized.  You can search by grade, or by subject.  In each subject you will find sub-caterogies to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

This has save me so many hours of internet searching!  They have everything, all in one place. The membership gives you unlimited access, all you do is select what you want and download.

Your downloads are found in one convenient spot.

Since it's election time, we are focusing on the election process together.  This is a great way to add some learning, and with my membership to Download Club, it's so easy!

Here's a couple we have been using -

My 9-12th graders watched the Presidential Debate and completed several sheets from this download.

All of the worksheet downloads are in PDF format, and you can print as many as you need.

We have also been using the Bible resources in our day.  This study using notebooking pages to highlight 17 important people in the Bible.   Your membership gives you access to many notebooking and lapbooking units, all you have to do is download and print!

It's not just worksheets that they offer - you can also access videos, teaching helps, organizers, maps games, and much more.  Looking for a special way to bring holidays into your lesson?  They have an entire section!

The articles are a bonus section - filled with valuable information... you don't want to miss them.

I love that it's one place to find what I need for every one of my students.  From full versions of the McGuffey readers that you can download and use right away to advance Literary analysis for my high schoolers, they have it all.

This site has literally saved me hours of searching for that perfect addition to our day.  Lydia Ackert, the founder, has done a great job collecting the best resources, and organizing them into one place.

Resources are available to purchase individually, or you can choose from an Annual or a Lifetime Membership with unlimited access.  This is one membership you will want to have!

Unexpected Beauty - The Wedding at Hume Lake

As promised... I want to update you on our great story of Unexpected Beauty.

We got married (after a whirlwind official engagement of only 2 weeks!) at Hume Lake Christian Camp in Hume Lake, CA.

Due to COVID - it was a very small, very informal ceremony.  My kids, my brother (who walked me down the aisle) and the Fergason (who re-routed their family vacation and officiated our ceremony) and Lewis families (who blessed us with music, pictures, and much more!) ❤️

It was perfect in every way!  Stunning scenic overlook of a perfect setting with some of our dearest people, who could ask for more?

But, of course God is so abundant!  We had lovely dresses (I love my dress so much)

Beautiful flowers (arranged by my daughters from a Costco bouquet)

Delightful music provided by my own personal artists...including violin, guitar and singers

Delicious charcuterie boards and bundt cakes in a perfect, private picnic area complete with twinkle lights and country dancing!

When God delivers beauty from ashes... he puts it on display for His Glory!

Reading Eggs from Blake eLearning Inc

Reading Eggs from Blake eLearning Inc is a great way to keep those reading skills sharp! We have been using our 1 year subscription that gives access to multiple programs and levels for up to 4 children in your family. This program works on your computer, laptop, tablet or on your mobile device with their new app.

  • Reading Eggs Junior is designed for your preschoolers - ages 2-4. It uses a variety of read-aloud books, alphabet games and more to get your child focusing on letters and the sounds they make.
  • Reading Eggs is for ages 3-7, uses a self-paced program to get your children excited about reading. They can complete a variety of activities and earn golden eggs as a reward!
  • MathSeeds is a great program for ages 7-13 to practice and perfect math skills.
  • Reading Eggspress helps your younger readers in grades 1-6 to practice their reading skills. A simple placement test helps put them in the correct spot. Both of my testers are using this level. The program is full of games, activities, online books and more that help your child learn to love reading.
  • NEW - Fast Phonics is for your 6-10 year olds. It's packed with games and levels to keep your new readers engaged by practicing systematic phonics!
  • NEW - Mental Minute Drills - designed to practice and master essential math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This program is based on solid research and focuses on building essential reading skills through phonics, sight words, spelling, vocabulary and comprehension. But, it's so fun - they had no idea they were really learning!

Each of my testers had their own dashboard, thankfully - it's just one login for me to remember :-) Parents also have access to detailed progress reports from their login.

Each of them has a customized "Map".  Even though my testers are both using Reading Eggspress, they have different maps - depending on which books they have chosen to work on.

They can choose to practice skills like spelling, play games and compete against others, complete lessons to earn golden eggs (the reward!), visit the library, see their targets, play games in the arcade or even go "shopping" at the mall.

A lesson for them covers several key reading skills. Let me give you a peek at one of their lessons.

Cover Story - they answer questions about the cover of their book.

Dictionary lets them learn new vocabulary with dictionary practices.

Fact or Opinion practices recognizing the difference as they read.

Main Idea & Details and Making Inferences helps them identify key sentences and learn to make inferences from what they are reading.  The program offers immediate feedback on answers.

Words in Context helps pinpoint how words are being used.

Reading allows them to read directly from an interactive book.  They have plenty of great books to choose from.

The Quiz checks how much they remember.  They need to score a minimum level to advance to the next step on their map.

After each section is completed, they earn gold "eggs".  These are the currency of the program.  The eggs can be used to play games, or go shopping!  Of course, this is my tester's favorite part.  They love to decorate their apartments & avatars...

I'm impressed with the depth of the content on Reading Eggs and my testers love it.  I recommend checking them out with the FREE 30 day trial to see for yourself!
