Summer Fun - Wonders Science

The main reason for our summer trip to Cali was Wonders Science Camp!

My husband (kinda wonderful to call him that!) teaches hands-on science camps to elementary age kids.  Each summer, hundreds of kids get to experience the Wonder with experiments, demonstrations & take home projects.  This year, COVID cancelled most of the camps, but not all of them!

With little time to prepare - the team stepped up to help "staff" the camps.  It was a wonderful time!!

It is such a privilege to introduce children to the wonder around them.  From nature walks to hot air balloons...

Rocket Camp was a blast!  They each built their very own powered rocket and launched it the final day.

It's a lot of fun... with science mixed in!

I love my team!

Summer Fun - Cali Beaches

Our trip to Cali included wasn't all work... we found plenty of place to play!

I love the beach - the sounds, the smells, the feel of the sand on my feet.  I never get tired of it!

California has more that 3,000 miles of shoreline to explore!!

We loved walking (and posing) along the the beach.  Each beach was a new adventure!

Summer Fun - Sea Lions

We have had a whirlwind summer!

It got started with a trip to California.  First stop - La Jolla Beach.  We had never seen sea lions so close!  There were several of them sunning themselves on the rocks.

Of course... we had to take "sea lion selfies"!

The water spraying over the rocks was truly breathtaking!

Along the path we spotted a trail down to the water, and were surprised to find a rope swing.

Everyone got a turn swinging high out over the slope and ocean - what a view!

It was an amazing introduction to California ❤️

Making Masks

The world has gone crazy...Corona Virus 2020

All of a sudden, all that quilt fabric I've been hoarding has become a true treasure.

My daughters and I have been sewing like crazy - making the "required" face masks for our neighbors, friends and family.

Here's a link to our pattern - and some of our custom creations.

And here's a link to our FB video showing you how to make one!

You know it's taking off when you see that even the DOLLS are wearing our fashions...

In a world gone crazy, it feels great to be able to help in some small way!  Thanks for teaching me how to sew mom :-)
