Bluebonnets!

I absolutely love Texas in the Springtime!

We had a chance to take a mini family road trip, and the bluebonnets were putting on quite the display - so of course we had to be Texan and pose for some pics in them ❤️

She can't help herself...

This girl!  Ballerinas simply can't stop themselves...

I'd say she gets her flexibility from me... what do you think?

Beauty for Ashes...

God has been doing some unexpectedly beautiful things lately...

We finally got to take our vacation trip, planned back in May - but, postponed and rerouted (thank you world-wide pandemic...)

We decided to go to Bryce & Zion National Parks.  They truly left me speechless as we hiked, surrounded by the majesty and beauty of God's creation!

Notice... we have a couple of new additions... our family is expanding, and God is doing a new thing. Meet Don Miller ❤️ and his son, Joe (1 of his 8 children).

It's a GOD-Sized story that I can't wait to share...

"and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor."   Isaiah 61:3

Stay tuned!

Road Tripping...

I love a good family road trip!

Here's a little recap of our recent road trip to Conway, AR to celebrate Thanksgiving with our favorites!

Our vacation began a bit differently... by putting these two on a solo FLIGHT to AR to arrive early for a surprise birthday.  They did great!

They pulled it off - a BIG surprise and a fun week with their besties!

Then, we loaded up.. just the 4 of us, and hit the road!

With a quick stop to pick up another driver - the other two were coming a day later... My boys all together!

And, back on the road to AR!

Here's the highlights:

We brought our annual Turkey Coloring Contest with us!  Check it out!

They colored while we cooked...  It was so much fun to spend the day in the kitchen with one of my besties!

A pretty impressive looking group! It is such a blessing to have friends like these that feel more like family.

Of course... Black Friday was calling their names... Thank goodness for one of my other besties that LOVES shopping!  They were out all day!!

Of course, the long awaited Frozen 2 was a must-see!

Moms like pictures too!

Conway always fills our hearts - we're so grateful for these friendships!

The MCA (masculine club of awesomeness) had a reunion too! That is quite a collection wouldn't you say??

My American Girl Moms ... aka - my Steel Magnolias got a chance for another "mom's breakfast"

Our India team even had a mini reunion for some great Indian food!

We fit so much into a week - and it was exactly what we needed!  Thank you Conway -until next time!

USA Activity Bundle Pack from Crafty Classroom: A TOS Crew Review

USA Activity Bundle Pack from Crafty Classroom

Ready for a road trip this summer?  You will want to check out the USA Activity Bundle Pack from Crafty Classroom!  We have been using this handy resource to keep learning while we travel.

The USA Activity Bundle is a downloadable PDF set containing 3 of their best-selling activity books:
  • U.S.A. State by State Activity Notebook
  • U.S.A. State Bird Art Cards
  • U.S.A. 50 State Mazes
Let me tell you about each of them:

U.S.A. Activity Pack - has a page for all 50 states. Activities for each state include coloring the flag, flower, bird, and location in the USA. In addition, students look up the state abbreviation, number, nickname and other fun facts and notes. A suggested accompaniment book is included, but facts can be found in the library or online.

I appreciated that each of my testers - 4th and 5th graders, could work on these independently. This is a great resource for multiple levels. They truly enjoyed looking up the information, and coloring, and the active process really helped them remember the information so much better than just reading it. We decided to do a page for each of the main states we were visiting (and lived in) this summer.

We are also using this resource in our USA geography study this upcoming year.  The pages are really nicely done, with plenty of space for writing and coloring.

This pack also has a couple of games you can print out and create - USA Bingo & Roll Across America. My testers loved them!

U.S.A. State Bird Art Cards  features a full color picture and fact card for each of the state birds (27 in all since some state share the same bird).   The page also has a blank picture students can color themselves.  This could be a fun way to keep track of backyard birds.

U.S.A. 50 State Mazes - my testers loved these! This is a set of a state-shaped maze for each state. The recommended age is Prek-3, but my testers had fun with them too. We printed one for each state that we traveled through, they had fun looking forward to the next state on our trip!  It would be fun to laminate these and keep them in the car.

I love that these products are so easy-to-use, no prep for me!
