NatureGlo's eScience MathArt & Science Course Bundle from NatureGlo's eScience

We have been following our science interests with NatureGlo's eScience MathArt & Science Course Bundle from NatureGlo's eScience.

This is a online subscription that gives you unlimited access to 31 courses, including:

  • Herps Explorers (three units)
  • Herps Zoology (two units)
  • Introduction to MathArt
  • Invertebrates
  • Marine Biology (six units)
  • Mammals
  • MathArt (six units)
  • Marine Reptiles
  • Marine Zoology (two units)
  • Math Connections with the Real World
  • Life and Mathematical Art (two units)
The courses are recorded and taught by Gloria Brooks, "a Relaxed Eclectic Homeschool & Unschool Coach, and Teacher".  These courses are all self-paced and designed for your students ages 12 and above (although we found them to fit perfectly for younger students as well).  The courses are taught from a "neutral" worldview and do not specifically point to the Creator.  Gloria narrates throughout the lessons, and they are quite informal - often you can listen in to her previous live students interacting.

Not sure where to start? I recommend scrolling down to the handy "Roadmap" lesson that will help you navigate which lessons to complete in a sequence.

To begin, you login to the website.  I wish the Student Login were at the top of the page  (you have to search a bit to find it at the bottom).

Once logged in, the student has a dashboard that allow them to see all the courses available, as well as the courses they have completed.  Courses can be revisited.

Each course contains downloadable materials - a Powerpoint Slide Show and PDF Study Guide, as well as, a main lesson video and links to other videos.  We got super excited about Exploring the Giant Redwoods...since we just had the opportunity to see them in person!

The lesson page is organized with the main material in on one side and a list of the components and course progress on the other.

The Student Study Guides are in downloadable PDF format.  Each study guide we use had fill-in-the-blank notes that correspond to the PowerPoint slides with a short quiz and a full answer key.

We had the most amazing time on our trip this summer, visiting Sequoia National Forest. This unit study was the perfect way to add some learning to our experiences.  NatureGlo eScience captures student's interests, and gets them excited to learn more.

For this lesson, my tester loved watching the videos - Gloria has found wonderful complements from all over the web and integrated them into each course.  We love that we can pick and choose from the activities that match our interests. Planting our own Sequoia tree was a big hit!

The courses vary in length from 1 session to a 6-week course.

Each course incorporates a variety of lessons - videos to watch, art lessons & drawing, writing, stories to read and much more.  Certificates are available for you to print at the completion of each course.

We enjoyed the Herps Explorers - Frogs, Gekos, & Chameleons - 6 Week study.  It was filled with a wide variety of activities and fascinating information.

We use the Study Guide to add to our science binders.

We read stories.

We love the diagrams and labeling exercises too!

We explored dot art...

And analyzed Poetry too!

I love this approach that integrates variety into our learning!  We had a lot of fun with Bubbleology  - learning the science behind it and finding new ideas for a family favorite...bubble blowing 😊

Be sure to check out our previous review - we spent some time investing the MathArt courses which get students exploring the mathematical connections there are with math, nature, science, art, and architecture. We had loads of fun!

This is a great way to get your students engaging in what interests them.  I wish it spent time showing a Christian worldview and how it relates to our world.  But, if you are looking for something engaging and easy to use, you will want to check it out.
